Adjustable Cold Therapy
Two cold settings give an average pad temperature of around 7.2°C on the colder mode and 10°C on the standard mode, so therapy can be matched to comfort and clinical need.
Active Compression
Motorised intermittent compression at a regular 50 mmHg or low 25 mmHg average peak, with an off setting, to help move fluid and reduce swelling beyond what cold therapy achieves alone.
Whisper-Quiet Pump
The built-in pump runs virtually silently, which makes the Wave well suited to overnight use without disturbing sleep.
Y-Adapter Ready
An optional Y-adapter lets you treat both sides at once, which suits bilateral knee or shoulder recovery.

Ideal For
The Polar Care Wave is recommended for patients recovering from major orthopaedic surgery who would benefit from both cold therapy and active compression. It is commonly used after total knee replacements, ACL reconstructions, rotator cuff repairs, hip replacements, and complex ankle procedures.
The combination of cold therapy and active compression has been shown to be more effective than cold therapy alone in managing post-operative swelling and pain. The motorised pump and adjustable settings give patients and their care teams precise control over their recovery protocol.
