Important Information
Free Perth Metro Delivery
We deliver your cold therapy unit directly to your door at no extra charge, anywhere within the Perth metropolitan area. If you are outside this zone, please contact us before booking.
Return to Osborne Park
At the end of your hire period, simply return the unit to our Osborne Park store at 61 Guthrie St, Osborne Park WA 6017. Once the unit has been returned and assessed by our team, your $80 deposit will be refunded within 24 hours.
Wraps Sold Separately
Therapy wraps and pads are purchased at checkout and are yours to keep. For hygiene reasons, wraps cannot be returned with the hire unit. If you already have a compatible wrap, select "I do not need a wrap" during checkout.
Hire Periods
All hires run for 2-week blocks. If you need more time, simply add a 2-week extension during checkout or contact us during your hire period to extend.

Who is APE Medical?
APE Recovery is powered by APE Medical, one of the largest Medical and Rehab products supplier in Australia. You can check them out here www.apemedical.com.au. APE Medical does invoicing and takes care of accounts and logistics. When you receive invoices and tracking information you will see it is co-branded with APE Medical. You will also see payment details will relate to APE Medical and when you call us you may be greeted by APE Medical staff. APE Medical is our parent company so rest assured it is all legitimate. But please call us if you need more clarification.

How much does it cost to hire a machine?
The ICEMAN Clear3 is $120 for two weeks and the Polar Care Wave is $200 for two weeks, both including GST. Every hire also has an $80 refundable deposit. You can add a two-week extension at checkout if you need longer.
What is the $80 deposit for?
The deposit is fully refundable. Once the unit has been returned and assessed by our team, your deposit will be refunded within 24 hours.
Which machine do I need?
Both machines cover every surgery site through the wrap you choose, so the real difference is the therapy. The ICEMAN Clear3 provides cold therapy. The Polar Care Wave adds active compression. If your surgeon or physio asked for compression, choose the Polar Care Wave. Otherwise the ICEMAN Clear3 suits most recoveries. Contact us at [email protected] if you would like a hand deciding.
How do I use the units?
Every device page has a short how-to video and a downloadable PDF user manual so you can set up and run the unit with confidence. When your order is confirmed we also send the how-to video link and the user manual for your device straight to your email, so the instructions are always with you when you need them.
How do I care for the unit during my hire?
Looking after the unit keeps your therapy working and protects your deposit. Please follow these simple steps for the whole hire period.
- Only use clean, cold water and ice. Never use warm or hot water.
- Do not run the unit with hot water. These units are for cold therapy only.
- Empty the unit completely once a day and refill with fresh clean cold water and ice.
- After every session, drain the water from the wrap back into the unit before you move or store it.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and never leave it in a hot car.
- Stand the unit upright on a firm, level surface while it is running.
- Do not overfill. Fill only to the line marked inside the unit.
- Keep the outside of the unit clean and dry while it is in your care.
- Never submerge the unit or its motor in water.
Do I need to buy a wrap?
Yes. You choose the wrap that matches your surgery site at checkout. Wraps are purchased and kept by you because they cannot be shared between patients for hygiene reasons. If you already have a compatible wrap you can select the no-wrap option.
How does delivery work?
Delivery is free across the Perth metro area. Allow 2-3 days delivery. If urgently required please contact us and arrange pick up at our Osborne Park offices.
How do I return the machine?
Return the unit in person to our Osborne Park store at 61 Guthrie St, Osborne Park WA 6017 at the end of your hire. Once the unit has been returned and assessed by our team, your deposit will be refunded within 24 hours.
How long is the hire period?
Every hire runs in two-week blocks. You can add a two-week extension at checkout, or contact us during your hire to extend.
What if I have a problem with my machine?

How long should each treatment be?
Typically treatments should be no longer than 20 minutes every 2 hours, but consult with your surgeon or treating clinician for a specific treatment plan tailored to your recovery.
Do you deliver outside the Perth metro area?
At this stage we only service the local Perth metro area. We do not currently offer delivery or hire outside this zone.
Is cold therapy right for me?
Cold therapy is widely used after orthopaedic surgery, but your surgeon or physio is the right person to confirm it suits your recovery. Follow their guidance on how and when to use the unit.
